Before we schedule a single venue tour, we start by understanding the wedding our clients actually want to create.

We talk through the anticipated guest count, overall budget, design direction, cultural and religious traditions, ceremony requirements, food and beverage expectations, entertainment, hotel needs and the experience they want their guests to have.

For multicultural and fusion weddings in particular, these conversations are incredibly important. A venue that looks beautiful online may not work for a Baraat, multiple ceremonies, specialty catering, a large guest count or the production necessary to transform a room between events.

Once we understand the priorities, we narrow the possibilities into a carefully curated shortlist that makes sense for that particular couple.

Rather than spending weekends touring venues that ultimately won't work, our goal is to make every tour intentional.

What Do We Look for When Selecting a Wedding Venue?

1. Guest Count and Capacity

Capacity sounds simple, but the number advertised by a venue doesn't always tell the whole story.

A ballroom may technically accommodate 300 people—but can it accommodate 300 people with a dance floor, stage, band, bars, specialty tables, lounge furniture and the design elements you envision?

We look at usable space, not simply maximum capacity.

2. The Entire Wedding Weekend

Today's weddings often extend well beyond the ceremony and reception.

There may be a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, Mehndi, Sangeet, Baraat, multiple ceremonies, brunch or farewell event.

We consider how the primary venue works within the larger weekend and whether nearby hotels, restaurants and additional event spaces can support everything surrounding the wedding day.

3. Location and Guest Experience

We look at the venue from the guest's perspective.

Where will guests stay? How will they get there? Is transportation necessary? Is parking or valet available? Can guests easily transition between the hotel, ceremony and reception?

A beautiful venue isn't enough if getting 250 guests there becomes a logistical challenge.

4. Catering and Bar Restrictions

This is particularly important for multicultural weddings.

Some venues require couples to use an exclusive caterer. Others have preferred lists or allow approved outside catering. Some may permit specialty cuisine but require their own staff to provide service, rentals or beverages.

Sometimes the best venue isn't the one that looks exactly like your inspiration photos. It's the one that gives us the greatest opportunity to create them.

7. Rain and Weather Plans

For any wedding involving an outdoor ceremony or reception, we always ask one critical question:

Do you love the rain plan too?

A backup plan shouldn't feel like a consolation prize.

We evaluate exactly where the wedding moves if weather changes, when that decision must be made, whether additional rentals are required and how the transition affects the guest experience and design.

8. Vendor and Production Access

There is an entire wedding happening before guests ever arrive.

We consider loading docks, freight elevators, vendor parking, setup windows, power availability, rigging restrictions, noise ordinances and teardown requirements.

A complicated two-hour load-in window can have a major impact on floral, décor, lighting and production costs.

9. Ceremony Requirements

Not every ceremony fits every venue.
